Registry

Select a registry key from the tree and right-click it to create a new sub-key or value. The tree view on the left shows the registry keys to be installed on the destination machine by the selected component. The list on the right shows the registry values for the selected key as well as the behavior of the selected registry key.

NOTE: All registry items apply only to the component selected in the combo box at the top.

Key values

Like key files, key values, shown with a key icon next to their names, allow Windows Installer to know if a component consisting of registry data has been installed. It is strongly recommended that every component consisting of only registry data have a key value specified.

To set the key value for a component, right-click a registry value and choose Set Key Value from the menu. To reset the key value for a component, right-click a value with a key icon and choose Clear Key Value from the menu.
